Email Collaboration Features at LuxSci
LuxSci's standard email features provide a powerful framework by which
organizations can collaborate via email. The synthesis of these options
enables many people to work together and manage the information in their
personal and shared email spaces in a consistent and natural way.

Shared Folders
LuxSci's WebMail suite allows you to share selected email folders
with other users so that they can have read-only or read-write access
to the messages therein.
With this feature, you can access your email and the email of selected
other people all from a single unified interface. You can even drag and
drop messages between shared folders. Read more about
shared folders.
Message Annotation
An annotation is extra information (a note) associated with a
particular email message. LuxSci's WebMail enables you to add notes to any
email message (even messages in shared folders) such that those notes are
visible the next time you or anyone else looks at that message in WebMail,
IMAP, or POP.
Annotations can be text or HTML, and they include the date and time the
email annotation was made as well as who made it. You can annotate a message any
number of times.
Annotation is particularly useful in shared folders. In this kind of
set up, adding notes or details to a shared email will ensure that others
will see your important extras upon reading. Read more
about annotation.
Message Tagging and Coloring
Email tagging enables you to color code and label your email messages
with multiple keywords of your choosing. This process helps you sort your
messages into categories and to visually identify particular types of
messages by color. Managing your email has never been so simple.
When multiple people are sharing the same email folders, tags enable
you to categorize messages and/or assign them to people. LuxSci's tags
are compatible with Mozilla Thunderbird and any other IMAP client that
supports "IMAP Keywords" ... so you can see the tags via IMAP as well! Read more about tags.
Shared IMAP Access
While shared folders are not visible to sharees when they connect to
their personal IMAP accounts,
LuxSci does allow multiple connections by different people to the same
IMAP account. So, you can have shared IMAP and WebMail access by:
- Creating a user that will be shared
- Setting up your users' IMAP clients (i.e. Thunderbird or Outlook) to
connect to both their personal email and to this shared user's email
accounts.
- Setting the shared email user to share some or all of its folders with the
other users in your account, making its folders visible in their
WebMail interfaces
In this way, your users can collaborate on email both via IMAP and via
WebMail, taking advantage of the benefits of each system as needed.
How do I sign up for email collaboration?
The majority of these features are standard on all LuxSci email hosting
accounts. Just proceed to Order Now and select
any package that includes email hosting. Some features do require
particular licenses. These include:
- Shared IMAP access requires
that your users have "IMAP" licenses.
- Sharing WebMail folders with arbitrary user groups requires that your
users have WebAide Enterprise licenses.
